The quantitative evidence had issues with bias (as most studies were not randomised) and imprecision in effect estimates. This evidence did not demonstrate any differences in costs or effectiveness between 2 different programmes. The main issues with the evidence were that the included studies provided only limited data and reported research conducted in a range of settings, making it difficult to determine whether each finding was directly relevant to care home contexts.
